Enhancing the life of a sailor aboard have a special  significance within the BWA. On those long deployments, months on end, having some extra comforts can mean so much.

Ships Benefit Projects (SBP's), delivered by the BWA Auxiliary Crews, can take many forms:

  • mess furniture, fixings, tableware, glassware, crockery and cutlery
  • soft furnishing or buklhead decorations, such as framed signed sports shirts
  • sports equipment, full team playing and training kits, sports bags, charity kits
  • provision of bar stocks through to deliveries of local pies
  • installing welsh slate counter tops to all mess decks
  • plus many more....

All these things means an enhancement to life aboard for which our sailors are exceptionally grateful.

Having a ships name inspired design to sports kits adds to a players pride in their ship and can encourage greater on field commitment. is just one example of how a Ships Benefit Project (SBP) can be applied.

Working with their ships to identify needs Auxiliary Crews then use their local contact network to find willing benefactors who can fund or provide the required goods or services.
